Dark printed backdrops have a larger reflective area in comparison with light/white designs and they are not supposed to be used with hard light due to this. Soft, diffused light is the best way to work with dark printed backdrops. Advice for artificial light: to minimize the reflecting properties, try to move the light source away, increasing its power, rather than keeping it close to the scene at the lower power level - the diffused light beam will create a softer lighting of the scene and decrease the glare.

Please also kindly note that due to a larger amount of ink used, dark backdrops are more sensitive to any external impact, and scratches may appear and be more visible in comparison with light/white backdrops. Try not to push the props when moving them around the scene in order to avoid scratches and marks.
